Biography

Uji Yaki is a Partner at Juwon Babalola Law Firm, with a practice built around real estate law, tax law, dispute resolution, and litigation. Within the firm’s property and commercial practice, he advises developers, investors, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals on complex property transactions, corporate structuring, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.

Uji’s real estate and tax work for the firm covers the full life of a transaction, from structuring an acquisition or development through to managing the tax and regulatory exposure that follows it. Developers and investors bring him in early, while a deal is still being shaped, because the firm’s approach treats structuring and compliance as part of the same conversation rather than two problems to solve separately later.

His practice also carries a strong dispute resolution dimension. Within the firm, Uji handles commercial and civil litigation, arbitration, and mediation, and clients rely on him to resolve disputes efficiently rather than let them drag on, whether that means litigating a matter to conclusion or steering it toward a negotiated outcome that protects the client’s underlying commercial interests.

Clients describe Uji’s advice as practical and results-driven. He helps clients manage risk, protect assets, and stay focused on their commercial objectives, and it’s that combination, transactional precision paired with dispute resolution experience, that the firm points clients to when a matter touches property, tax, and risk all at once.

Uji holds an LLB and an LLM from the University of Plymouth, along with an MA in Law and Diplomacy from the University of Jos, and is licensed to practice law in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria, giving the firm’s property and dispute resolution clients direct access to counsel across two jurisdictions rather than having to bring in separate advisors for each.

Clients who work with Uji get the backing of Juwon Babalola Law Firm behind a partner who moves as comfortably structuring a deal as he does defending one once it’s in dispute
