Biography

Victor Ogunseye is a Partner at Juwon Babalola Law Firm and one of the firm’s most capable litigation attorneys, with a practice that spans civil, criminal, and property law. As part of the firm’s dispute resolution practice, he represents clients in complex, high-stakes disputes before Nigerian courts, arbitral tribunals, and regulatory authorities, and has built a reputation as counsel clients turn to when a matter can no longer be resolved by negotiation alone.

Within the firm, Victor’s litigation practice runs across a wide range of matters, including commercial disputes, corporate and shareholder conflicts, regulatory enforcement actions, property and land disputes, and criminal defense. He appears before trial and appellate courts alike, and represents the firm’s clients in arbitration proceedings where speed, confidentiality, and enforceability matter as much as the underlying merits of the case. Clients facing government agencies or regulators also rely on him, and the firm’s broader resources, to manage the procedural and political dimensions of a dispute, not just the legal ones.

What distinguishes Victor’s approach, and reflects the standard the firm holds its litigators to, is the combination of strategic insight and meticulous preparation he brings to every matter. He builds each case around a clear view of what a favorable and practical outcome actually looks like for the client, rather than pursuing every available argument for its own sake, and he prepares with the discipline that high-stakes litigation demands, anticipating opposing strategy, stress-testing the client’s position, and adjusting course as a matter develops. That discipline carries from the courtroom to the negotiating table, and it is why clients trust him, and the firm, to protect their interests vigorously while keeping their broader commercial goals in view.

Victor holds an LLM from the University of Lagos and is licensed to practice law in Nigeria, bringing more than a decade of litigation experience to the firm, time built almost entirely in courtrooms and at negotiating tables rather than behind a desk.

Clients who work with Victor get the strength of Juwon Babalola Law Firm behind a litigator who has stood in front of judges, tribunals, and regulators, and who knows which fights are worth having and which are better resolved before they ever reach a courtroom.
